On Tuesday (25-08-2020), Delhi Capitals declares Ryan Harris, the former fast bowler of Australia as their bowling coach. Ryan Harris previously worked as the Kings XI Punjab’s bowling coach. The 40-years-old coach will join the team of Delhi Capitals in the UAE for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is scheduled to be started from 19th September and will continue till 10th November.

This decision is taken because James Hopes, who was previously appointed as the bowling coach of Delhi Capitals for the last two editions, will be unable to fly UAE with the side to UAE due to some personal reasons.

In a press release, Ryan Harris stated “I am very happy to get back in the IPL. This is a great chance to fulfill the goal of the franchise to win this year’s IPL title. The bowling department of Delhi Capitals team is outstanding, and I can’t wait to begin working with the bowlers.”

Ryan Harris, the former bowler of Australia appeared in 27 numbers of Test matches in which he had taken 113 wickets. Also, he included in 21 ODIs in which he claimed 44 wickets, while also he took part in 3 T20Is and picked 4 wickets.

Ryan Harris also has played 37 IPL games in which he picked 45 wickets at an average rate of 23.27. In the year 2009, he won the IPL title with Deccan Chargers.

In 2015, due to injuries, he forced to declared his retirement. After that, the former Australian bowler has taken the responsibility of coaching the Australian team, bowling coach of Kings XI Punjab, and of Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League. Ryan Harris will join the coaching staff members of Delhi Capitals comprising, Mohammad Kaif, Vijay Dahiya, Ricky Ponting, and Samuel Badree.
